Dark Crystal Prequel Gains Cast Members in Mark Hamill, Simon Pegg, Keegan-Michael Key, and More

With the prequel to Dark Crystal in the works, we’ve all been patiently waiting to see what news would come out before its grand release. Today, we’ve learned about some exciting casting announcements and we can’t wait to share them with you!

The voice cast has become rather star-studded since the original announcement and we’re excited to see some of our favorite names! Between Mark Hamill, Andy Samberg, and Simon Pegg joining the cast of the prequel, we know we’re in for a truly excellent movie! This news also came with our first look at the new Gelfling at the center of the new show, who will be played by Kingsman’s Taron Egerton, Game of Thrones‘ Nathalie Emmanuel, and The Witch star Anya Taylor-Joy.

From what we know this film will focus on “three Gelfling discover the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis’ power, they set out on an epic journey to ignite the fires of rebellion and save their world.” Alongside the announcement, we found that we would have even more familiar voices in the Gelfling! Voiced by Helena Bonham-Carter, Harris Dickinson, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Toby Jones, Shazad Latif, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, and Alicia Vikander. Sandberg and Hamill will be leading the Skeksis & Mystics, and will be joined by Harvey Fierstein, Ralph Ineson, Jason Isaacs, Keegan-Michael Key, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and, once again, Simon Pegg.

We simply can’t wait to see the magic happen on screen when this prequel comes to life! With the puppets back in action, we are sure that it will be worthy of being associated with Dark Crystal.

What are you most excited to see from this prequel? We want to know!
