Re-Imagined World of Disney Officially Reopens in the Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney District

The World of Disney has officially re-opened after undergoing an extensive re-imagining. This new approach to the World of Disney embraces current retail trends while also building on the rich storytelling legacy that the Walt Disney Company is known for. The changes to the store can be found both inside and out. With a new marquee welcoming people in, the changes are just getting started with the exterior. Inside, there is a whole new brick-filled look that is full of magical surprises.

The new version of World of Disney is very spacious and open. The merchandise is actually a part of the decorating for the store. There are also nods throughout the store to the Nine Old Men that include some magical effects.

“We saw World of Disney as an opportunity to reimagine what Disney retail is today,” said Alysia Kelley, vice president of visual merchandising and location strategy for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “The new store design highlights the best of what is current and new, while also celebrating classic Disney heritage based in storytelling.”

With this new approach to Disney retail that includes so much magic, Disney is changing the Disney shopping experience. It really is adding the pixie dust to the shopping experience.

Along with a new look and experience for the store, there is also a continued commitment by the Walt Disney Company to be environmentally friendly. Bags (that can double as souvenirs or carry on bags) will be for sale in various sizes. These will be for sale at a nominal fee. Traditional bags will also be available by request.

The World of Disney also unveiled two new lines of merchandise with its reopening. This includes a new Mickey Mouse Club Collection, featuring Mickey Mouse from the original TV series. There is also a new Nordic-inspired Disney Parks Holiday Collection 2018. This includes apparel, holiday decorations, and more!

The Disneyland Resort’s World of Disney opened on October 26th and Walt Disney World’s World of Disney officially re-opens in Disney Springs on October 27th.
