Today, Salt and Straw opened in Downtown Disney, the first Orange County location for the brand. The artisan ice cream shop is a welcome addition to the shopping and dining available to guests of the resort. DAPS contributor Murray was on hand for the grand opening festivities this morning, and shared photos and videos of the event.
Disneyland Ambassador Alexa Garcia was there to welcome everyone to Salt and Straw! Downtown Disney General Manager, Brent Davies, and Director of Operating Participants of the Disneyland Resort, Jillian DeKunder were also in attendance to celebrate the opening. Kim Malek, founder and CEO of Salt and Straw was excited to open a location in the Happiest Place on Earth, because she hoped their ice cream could be the happiest part of someone’s day. It was a natural fit for the ice cream establishment she created so that people can come together and celebrate life over something sweet.
