Halloween Time - Oogie Boogie - Disney California Adventure Entrance

Oogie Boogie, Cars, and the Headless Horseman Headline Disney California Adventure at Halloween Time

Halloween Time has arrived at the Disneyland Resort. This year, Disney California Adventure got some extra happy haunts for guests to enjoy. The Halloween magic begins before even entering the park. Oogie Boogie has also taken over the main entrance of Disney California Adventure. His influence continues through Buena Vista Street and his bats have taken over Carthay Circle Restaurant’s tower. Where the Christmas tree is found during the Holidays, the Headless Horseman now haunts the area! During the day, this area is charming as Mickey and friends show up in costume. At night, it becomes quite spooky with new lighting, new music, and new effects.

Haul-O-Ween in Cars Land

This year, the residents of Radiator Springs decided to decorate and celebrate Haul-O-Ween. With these new decorations come new experiences, new merchandise, and new food (and some of it is REALLY good). The cars also dressed up for the season as they drove around Radiator Springs. This included:

  • Lightning McQueen as a super hero.
  • Cruz Ramirez as a pirate.
  • Tow Mater as a vampire.
  • Red as a clown.
  • DJ as a rocker with a massive mohawk.

Some of the regular experiences in Cars Land were also changed for Haul-O-Ween. Now guests can experience Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween. DJ has mixed things up a bit for Haul-O-Ween during his Dance ‘n Drive. The nightly lighting ceremony has taken a haunted turn as well that shouldn’t be missed.

Plaza de la Familia

In Paradise Gardens the Plaza de la Familia celebration has begun. This is a celebration that focuses on family, which also happens to be a theme in the upcoming Disney-Pixar film Coco. There are music guests performing on the Bandstand Stage, new food, a new exhibit giving a look at elements of the film, and the Tree of Life interactive photo location. There is also a new show called A Musical Celebration of Coco. The storyteller Mateo is joined by Folklórico dancers and the GRAMMY®-winning Mariachi Divas. Together they tell the story of Coco and even sing three songs from this upcoming movie. It is a beautiful show that definitely should be experienced before it ends on November 2nd.

Nighttime Haunts

Disney California Adventure changes dramatically after dark during Halloween Time. Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters after Dark takes over Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Space!. New lights, music, and effects appear in both Cars Land and Buena Vista Street. Some of the lights found in the trees are simply beautiful! Judging by the opening night of Halloween Time at Disney California Adventure, this is going to be a very popular place to be during the Halloween Time season.
