DuckTales Money Bin at D23 Expo

Jumping into DuckTales, Woo-oo!

Anyone who grew up watching DuckTales most likely dreamed of jumping into Uncle Scrooge’s money bin. At the D23 Expo this weekend, these dreams are coming true for thousands. With the line stretching out multiple hours throughout the day, DuckTales fans can jump into the money bin in anticipation of the Disney XD’s DuckTales!

The Experience

First off, if you want to jump into the money bin, bring your patience. I was able to get a FASTPASS first thing this morning. When I returned, I found myself ushered into a much shorter queue than those in standby. Even with this, I still waited for probably 45 minutes. This really wasn’t bad as I was waiting in a line with a bunch of other DuckTales fans. As we wait, we signed a waiver on an iPad as the line slunk along. Finally I was in the front of the line and a lady was ushering me up the stairs. She explained that there would be approximately five seconds of shooting as you soar our and then into the money bin. Any form of jumping seems to be allowed other than diving. The host asked me how I was going to jump and I told I her I didn’t have a clue. Within seconds I found myself facing the bin and getting the countdown to jump. Then I was flying through the air, arms extended, and bright lights surrounding me. This was followed by the noise of coins clanking as I hit Scrooge’s treasure. I landed on my knees. The money is not made of foam and definitely can be felt. It doesn’t hurt but it isn’t necessarily the most comfortable thing in the world. However, it’s all worth it!

DuckTales on Disney XD

In Disney XD’s new DuckTales Scrooge McDuck hasn’t spoken with Donald Duck in ten years. Now after a ten year hiatus, they are reunited when Donald moves in with Huey, Dewey, and Louie. With the nephews and Donald now living at McDuck Manor, Scrooge finds his sense of adventure re-ignited. This leads to new adventures for the gang. DuckTales premieres on Disney XD on August 12, 2017 with a one hour special. This will be followed by two new episodes on September 23.
