This weekend Disneyland is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic attraction Pirates of the Caribbean. Along with some other offerings, there is a whole treasure trove of foods and drinks being offered that are inspired by this Disneyland original.
First off there is the Caribbean Breakfast Burrito. It is filled with scrambled eggs, Andouille sausage, rice, sweet potatoes, black beans and cheddar cheese and can be found at the Mint Julep Bar or the Royal Street Veranda.
If lunch is more your thing, check out the Calypso Caribbean Chicken Stew with Caribbean-spiced chicken stewed with carrots, onions, celery, potatoes and yucca. This can be found at the Royal Street Veranda or Harbor Galley.
Another option is the Buccaneer Pulled Pork Sandwich. It is piled high with jerk-spiced pork and topped with sweet and tangy barbecue sauce along with pineapple Caribbean-style slaw. It is served with fried yucca and can be found at the French Market.
If it be gold you are after, check out the Lost Treasure Beignets. These lemon flavored beignets are gold and sure to to please any plundering pirate. They can be found at the Mint Julep Bar or Café Orleans.
At the nearby churro cart, try the Golden Churro. These churros are deliciously golden as well. Just hold on to them as they will quickly become a target for nearby marauders!
For the steak lovers, there is the Steak Sandwich. It is topped with white cheddar sauce, bacon jam, arugula and cherry tomatoes. Served with sweet potato waffle fries, it can be found at Cafe Orleans.
Get a taste of the sea when you order Fruits de Mer at the Blue Bayou Restaurant. It includes pan-seared red snapper, sautéed shrimp, scallop and hush puppy. It is served on a bed of spinach with spicy shrimp sauce and rémoulade.
The Jolly Roger Punch will quench your thirst with a blend of pineapple, orange and mango juices. This drink will be available at the French Market Restaurant, Mint Julep Bar, Harbour Galley and Royal Street Veranda. A limited edition, souvenir Pirates of the Caribbean stein will also available at the same locations.
