Muppet fans have plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving if they watch The 90th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC. The Muppets helped kick off this annual tradition with a Macy’s parade centric variation on Hey A Movie! from The Great Muppet Caper.

Miss Piggy then joined Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer to start the festivities off with by introducing the Electric Mayhem who performed Twist and Shout and were joined by band members and cheerleader to celebrate the day.

Throughout the morning, various members of The Muppets posted photos of their adventures on their various twitter handles.

The end of the parade found Miss Piggy doing a duet with Tony Bennett as they sang Santa Claus is Coming to Town before Santa Claus arrived to usher in the Christmas season.

This was the culmination of an audition campaign by The Muppets leading up to The 90th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
