Michael Giacchino Scoring Disney's Zootopia

Michael Giacchino Takes Over Composing Duties for Star Wars: Rogue One

Michael Giacchino Scoring Disney's ZootopiaStar Wars: Rogue One continues to stay in the news with its productions adventures. The newest tidbit to come out of this production is that Michael Giacchino will be taking over the scoring duties from Alexandre Desplat.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, this is due to a scheduling conflict that has arisen due to much talked-about reshoots of this Star Wars stand-alone film. With Desplat out of the picture, Disney and Lucasfilm have turned to Giacchino who has a long relationship with the Walt Disney Company. Through the years he has filmed scores for Pixar, Disney, Disney Animation, and even Marvel. Due to his previous work with J.J. Abrams, many surmised early on that he would be scoring Star Wars: The Force Awakens. John Williams did end up scoring that film but with Giacchino now scoring Rogue One, he will become the first composer besides Williams to score a Star Wars film.

What do you think of the news that Michael Giacchino will be filming Star Wars: Rogue One?
