Over the weekend, fans of the Marvel Universe flocked to see the latest film, Captain America: Civil War. According to box office numbers, the film did more than okay with reviews and sales.
MoviePilot reports the film brought in an estimated $181.79 million from opening weekend domestic sales. Overall, the film has since out-beat Iron Man 3 in opening weekend numbers, making the new film “the fifth largest opening weekend of all-time.” Box Office Mojo tallies the film as bringing in $673,139,142 worldwide. Captain America: Civil War is currently ranked with a 90% on Rotten Tomato’s Tomatometer.
Reports state the film will continue to succeed in the coming weeks and should pass $300 million in a few days. Twentieth Century Fox and Marvel’s X-Men: Apocalypse is set to be released on May 20, which will add to market competition.
