On Thursday, Entertainment Weekly reported that Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War has become the biggest global grossing film of 2016. The film which opened in theaters on May 6, has skyrocketed to over $978 million, according to Boxoffice Mojo.
In doing so, the film surpassed Disney’s Zootopia and The Jungle Book. With theses numbers, foreign sales ($671.4 million) greatly outweigh that of domestic ticket sales ($310.5 million).
The Marvel Cinematic Universe just began “Phase Three” with the release of Civil War. A handful of films are set to be released in the coming years. Which film are you most looking forward to?
