With the redevelopment of Downtown Disney over at the Walt Disney World Resort, it looks like a few more things are about to change. With the addition of new dining locations, shops and more parking, the actual name of Downtown Disney is to change, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Next Tuesday, the resort is set to officially change the name from Downtown Disney to Disney Springs. A ceremony is to be held in celebration of the redevelopment. In addition, the new restaurant, Morimoto Asia, is also set to open on Tuesday.
Disney Parks Blog states:
When work is completed in 2016, Disney Springs will have expanded to more than 150 shopping, dining and entertainment venues. The area will include four distinct, outdoor neighborhoods with a high-quality, diverse mix of retailers – including premium, affordable luxury and fast fashion options – and sophisticated restaurants.
