Director Brad Bird Shares an Update on ‘The Incredibles 2’

As noted a while back, Pixar is in the midst of creating a sequel to the successful film, The Incredibles. Not much news has been released on the project, other than it is in fact happening.

Collider reports that writer and director of The Incredibles 2, Brad Bird, has given an update on the film. The article goes on to say that the first draft of the script is nearly complete. Bird states, “I have the story arc. I’m probably three-quarters through the script, first pass through the script, but we’re already boarding parts of it.”

Even more so, working on the sequel is somewhat like a family reunion. Many that worked on the first film have returned for the second.

As for when we can expect the film to hit theaters, there is no official word. The same goes for the plotline. Bird did note that they want the film to stay away from the common superhero flicks. “What you don’t want to do is trot over the same turf in the same way everyone else is. So we’re trying to keep it focused in the area that our film was, which was a little bit more about characters and relationships and stuff like that, and see where that takes us,” said Bird.

With this brief update, we can expect big things from the film.

What are you speculating will happen in the The Incredibles 2? Hopefully no capes are involved!
