The second of countdowns to the official 60th anniversary, and today we bring what happened just a couple of years ago.
Disneyland’s 58th year was marked with something called Limited Time Magic. Throughout the year were small events that beckoned visitors to the park. Among the Limited Time Magic were things like a Golden Horseshoe tribute, special “Long Lost Friends” days with characters people voted to see, and for the anniversary itself – a look at the history of the park.
Annual Passholders were able to attend special presentations each Tuesday for three weeks leading up to July 17. Stacia Martin of the Walt Disney Archives hosted each presentation where she shared a lot of trivia and history of the park, especially its form in 1955. What a great way to share the anniversary of Disneyland!
July 17 featured the usual flash mob of characters and dedication speech broadcast that marks many of the anniversaries. For a look at that particular day, and more details on the presentations, go to our past post here.
