Dining at the Disneyland Resort is always a fun experience. From trying out new flavors of food to enjoying time with the people you care about, enjoying a meal at the resort can create lasting memories. Option wise, the resort offers quick service, table service and character dining.
Each of the dining selections will bring something different to the table, pun intended. But, when it comes to character dining, what exactly does an experience entail?
Well ladies and gentlemen, be ready for a magical meal and fun all around. The Disneyland Resort offers several character dining locations. Each has its own unique charm and theme. In addition, Disney characters as well as food options will vary depending on the location.
Below is a list of locations that offer character dining. Please note that several dining locations will only offer character dining for a portion of the day. Those portions of which character experiences will be available have been listed. Times are subject to change.
Character Dining Locations:
- Disney’s PCH Grill – Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel
Breakfast 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. MENU
- Goofy’s Kitchen – Disneyland Hotel
Breakfast 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Dinner 5:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. MENU
- Storytellers Café – Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
Breakfast 7:00 a.m. to 11:25 a.m. MENU
- Ariel’s Grotto – Disney California Adventure Park
Breakfast 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Lunch 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MENU
- Plaza Inn – Disneyland Park
Breakfast 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. MENU
Dining locations, for the most part, will be self-serving, with the exception of Ariel’s Grotto. That means that guests can pick and choose whatever items they would like. All food and drink (except alcohol) is included in the set meal payment. Disneyland Annual Passholder discounts are accepted as well.
If you or anyone in your party has a specific dietary need, have no fear. These locations will work with you to make sure all is well. Vegetarian, gluten-free and kosher options are available. In order to make sure that the proper food will be set out during your visit, it is best to speak with the head chef of that location to discuss your options. Due to the popularity of character dining, it is best to make a reservation. To make a reservation, please call (714) 781-DINE or book a time on the Disneyland Website by clicking here. Guests can make reservations 60 days prior to dining experience.
Last but not least is the character experience. Each location will have special characters ready to greet you at your table. From a royal greeting of princesses at Ariel’s Grotto, to Pastry Chef Minnie Mouse at Goofy’s Kitchen to even lifeguard Mickey Mouse at Disney’s PCH Grill, the experience is priceless. Characters will be more than happy to share their autographs and take photos. Characters will rotate from table to table. That means no waiting in line, they will come find you; so much fun and extra magic.
Also, if you have a special occasion going on such as a birthday or anniversary, let the cast members know you are celebrating. You will be given button to remember your day.
