With the recent announcement of Emma Watson being cast as Belle in the upcoming live action version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, there is still a great amount of speculation as to who else will join the cast. Recently, Daily Mail noted that Emma Thompson may soon be joining the cast as Mrs. Potts.
Though this news has yet to be confirmed by Disney, it would still be a great role if she was cast. With her name in the talks and negotiations under way, as an Oscar winning actress, her charm would work well into character. Most certainly opposite from her character of P.L. Travers from Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks.
The film is said to directed by Bill Condon and is being produced by Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman.
