What's New in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season Two?

shieldABC and Marvel has just released a trailer for Comic Con, and it’s public on Entertainment Weekly’s site.  So, what is going to be happening in season 2 of this already epic show?

Well, the characters that is featured in the trailer is Agent Koenig…and Agent Koenig.  The brothers who seem to have more around the world explain some things for the Comic Con crowd.  The biggest spoil is that Mockingbird seems to be a big name for the next season.  Who is Mockingbird?  In the teaser, she’s said to be an agent that Coulson really wants on board.  In the comics, she is a super-hero and an Avenger.

Bobbi Morse is first a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, and eventually an Avenger.  What gets me excited about the use of the character is that the comics version marries Hawkeye.  So, it makes me wonder if she will bring over Clint Barton to the small screen at some point in the television show.  Some other highlights of her career is that she dies.  And comes back.  Sort of.  She was, at one point, replaced by an alien shipshifter race called the Skrull.  That alien posing as her was killed in action, and more recently many Marvel characters were found to be not deceased because of having been abducted by the aliens.

Other things to speculate about the trailer is the Koenigs.  There’s more than two.  And they’re all identical.  This coupled with recent reveals of the android Vision on Avengers: Age of Ultron movie posters does make me think the Koenigs are the infamous Life Model Decoys.  The Decoys are like androids, but they are controlled by the human that they are modeled after.  They have great details to fool people into thinking they are humans.  Whether the Koenigs are LMD’s are pure speculation.  They could be clones.  They could be aliens.  They could be just plain robots.  It’s unknown.  But, there’s more to them than we initially know.

In all, the season is looking to be an exciting one besides what is already revealed at the end of season 1.  We know Coulson has some alien residue problems from his coming back to life.  Whether this will be a huge issue or not is yet to be seen.

Again, I’m most excited about Mockingbird being part of the small screen universe.  It’s about time there were some more major Marvel players to enhance the show.  This is going to be huge, even if you’ve never heard of her.  She’s a big part of the Avengers in the comics, and this will definitely bridge over to movies.

Until next time, have a Marvel-ous day!

  1. On top of this, I heard Lucy Lawless is joining the cast, and I heard that many MCU veteran directors will be helming episodes of Agent carter including Louis D’Esposito for the pilot, Anthony and Joe Russo (Winter Soldier) for episodes 2 and 3, and Joe Johnston (The First Avenger) for episode 4

    1. I’ve heard those too! Not sure who Lucy Lawless will be, but it sounds like there will be some great additions.
