Lilo and Stitch: 2-Movie Collection – Blu-Ray Review by Mr. DAPs

The Lilo and Stitch: 2-Movie Collection brings both the original Lilo and Stitch and its sequel on to Blu-Ray and DVD together. Lilo & Stitch is the story of how Lilo adopts an outcast “dog” and they create a family that transcends worlds. Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch is exactly what happens. The bonds of family are tested when Stitch gets a glitch that could do far more than just tear their “ohana” apart.

Picture and Sound:

Lilo & Stitch looked and sounded pretty good. The colors were pretty. The soundtrack filled my living room nicely. Overall, I don’t have too many complaints. It is interesting how much technology has changed since this came out. I definitely caught myself thinking it wasn’t quite as crisp as Tangled…oops! However, I love the look and feel of the animation. In Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch things still looked and sounded pretty good. However, it did have that “made for TV” feel in quality. It looked better than it sounded I think.

Bonus Features:

As with other two movie sets, the Lilo and Stitch: 2-Movie Collection had all of the bonus features on the DVDs and not the blu-ray disc. The bonus features all had been previously released as well. So… if Bonus Features are your go button… this probably isn’t the collection for you.

Final Thoughts:

Lilo and Stitch: 2-Movie Collection offers two very charming movies that are full of heart. I much prefer the first movie over the second. There are some priceless moments in it. The downside for me with this collection had to be the fact that there are no new bonus features and the bonus features that are included are on the DVDs. That being said, this collection gets a hat nod. It’s worth getting but I wanted more.

PRESS RELEASE:

Two Disney Animated Family Movies Together!

First Time on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack – June 11

This summer Walt Disney Studios treats audiences to two heartwarming and hilarious animated comedies about bringing friends and family together even when they seem worlds apart in one fun “Lilo and Stitch” 2-movie collection. Available June 11, 2013 for the first time on Blu-ray with perfect picture and sound, the “Lilo & Stitch” and “Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch” movies are hours of fantastic fun in one incredible collection! The 3-disc Blu-ray Combo Pack includes both feature films on one Blu-ray disc plus each film on individual DVDs.

“Lilo and Stitch” is the story of Lilo, a lonely little girl, and Stitch the mischievous little creature from outer space. When Stitch crash-lands in Hawaii, Lilo adopts him as her pet, but he soon turns her world upside down. Stitch takes Hawaii by storm, wreaking havoc and hanging ten while he evades the alien bounty hunters who are after him, and also learning about loyalty and friendship. Featuring six original Elvis Presley songs, “Lilo and Stitch” is fun for the entire family.

The laughter continues in the hysterical sequel “Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch.” As Stitch  settles into life with his human family it appears his molecular makeup is out of whack and his friendship with Lilo is threatened as a result. Lilo and her friends must find a way to restore his “goodness” level before he ruins everything, including Lilo’s big hula competition – the same competition her mother won years before.

Discover that “ohana” means family, and celebrate the unbreakable bonds of friendship like never before with these two unforgettable movies on Disney Blu-ray for the first time!
