Lake Buena Vista, Florida – Officials at Walt Disney World are changing the guidelines for Downtown Disney's Pleasure Island.
Starting tonight, five nightclubs in Downtown Disney's Pleasure Island will be off limits to patrons under 21. The clubs previously had different age restrictions and often admitted people between 18 and 21.
Younger Disney guests will still be welcome at the Adventurers Club and the Comedy Warehouse, but an adult must accompany anyone under 18. There will be no age restrictions at the Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant.
When Pleasure Island first opened, no one under 18 could even enter the area. Over the past few years, restrictions have been loosened to allow younger visitors to at least pass through and visit the shops.
A Disney World spokesman says the new change allows for a more consistent format on Pleasure Island.
