ANAHIEM – Some streets will be shut down next weekend as major events lure about 40,000 people to the city.
Disneyland Half Marathon events and the Mexican Independence Day festival are both scheduled for Sept. 15-17.
Anaheim Boulevard, from Broadway to Center Street, and Lemon Street, from Oak to north of Broadway, will be closed at 6 p.m. Sept. 15. About 25,000 people are expected to attend the fiesta.
Those streets will re-open before Monday morning.
More than 15,000 people are scheduled to attend the Disney events throughout the three days.
The half-marathon is set for Sunday morning. Disneyland Drive will be closed starting at midnight, with other streets closing starting at 5:15 a.m.
This area will open again for traffic after the race's completion.
