LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Walt Disney Co. said on Thursday that Robert Iger and Michael Eisner would share chief executives duties of the entertainment company until Eisner retires at the end of September.
Disney on March 13 had said that Iger, currently president and chief operating officer, would succeed Eisner as CEO on Oct. 1.
The company also confirmed that Chairman George Mitchell would not stand for reelection to the board at the 2006 annual meeting, as Mitchell had previously indicated.
