Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, which is based off the 1949 animated film The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, is one of the original three Fantasyland dark rides to open with the park on July 17, 1955. Since it’s opening, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride has become a favorite for young would be drivers who can’t resist to get behind the wheel of an attraction where there are no rules of the road.

Every attraction in Fantasyland got a facelift during the redesign in 1983 and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride was no different. Originally, the exterior of this attraction resembled that of a circus tent, much like the rest of Fantasyland. Now Mr. Toad’s Wild Rideexterior is themed as an old English manor house, which resembles Toad Hall, where Mr. Toad himself takes everyone on a wild ride across the English countryside.
Along your adventure, your car will race and crash through Mr. Toad’s wacky adventures. So, hold on tight and keep your eyes peeled because Mr. Toad certainly isn’t paying any attention as to where he is going. The car makes lots of sharp turns as it proceeds on its tour of England passing the homes of Toad’s friends and crashing though haystacks and other obstacles, all while avoiding unsuspecting livestock and other innocent bystanders. However, all good things must come to an end at some point and eventually it does for Mr. Toad too as the long arm of the law reaches out for him. After a few unfortunate events, everyone ends up in Hell, but not all is lost. Just as you can’t take the heat any longer, the car and its passengers emerge back into the sunlight and the safety of the loading area.
