Just about every great amusement park, carnival or boardwalk has the classic Ferris wheel. This Ferris wheel, however, is no ordinary ride. In addition to the traditional stationary Ferris wheel gondolas, the Sun Wheel also has mobile buckets that move around smaller loops built into the wheel. As the wheel spins around in its circle, these gondolas move around their inner loops creating sudden drops and plenty of swinging. If you are looking for a different twist to the traditional Ferris wheel, then this is one attraction to put on your must do list!

Additional Trivia and Fun Facts:

* The Sun Wheel has a diameter of 150 feet.
* Part of the loading area is actually a few feet under the surface level of Paradise Bay.
* The Sun Wheel is actually not modeled after a California classic, but rather the Wonder Wheel at New York’s Coney Island, which opened in 1920.
* This attraction is one of the original Disney's California Adventure attractions that opened with the park on February 8, 2001.
