California Screamin’ is sure to be at the top of any thrill seekers list of things to do while visiting the Disneyland Resort. This state-of-the-art steel roller coaster has all the chills and thrills of the classic wooden roller coasters of days long ago. It is complete with a 108 foot drop and a loop inside the classic silhouette of Mickey Mouse. As you return back to the pier, you will have the adrenaline rush of the century and you will only want to do it again and again.

* Much of the steel on California Screamin’ creates the illusion that this is a vintage wooden coaster.
* The coaster has six trains with six cars per train.
* The maximum speed is 55 mph.
* The maximum drop is 108 feet.
* The length of track is 6,072 feet (more than a mile).
* The length of the launch is only 215 feet.
* There are 550 sensors on this state of the art coaster.
* This coater travels 50,000 miles per year!
* A loaded train weighs 22,000 pounds.
* There are 108 speakers on board each train car.
* There is six miles of electrical wire.
* All it takes is 4.7 seconds to launch guests from 0 to 55 mph.
* The initial launch uses a linear synchronous motor to quickly propel the trains through the first hill rather than using a traditional chain lift.
* From January-April 2007, California Screamin’ was transformed into Rockin’ California Screamin’. The attraction was rockin’ to an all new soundtrack with tunes from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
