After the cavalcade, the 2019-2020 Disneyland Resort Ambassador Team took a few minutes to speak with members of the media. During this round-robin interview (seen below) they shared about the process of becoming a Disneyland Ambassador, favorite Disney characters, what they will be doing, and more!

Rapp and Barron were chosen from more than 100 applicants. During the next two years, they will represent the Disneyland Resort at special events, act as spokespersons for the Disneyland Resort, and also host dignitaries and other VIPs. Some of the special events will include working with CHOC Children’s, where they will visit with Disney characters on a monthly basis. They will also be working with the local community on projects, including Kaboom! playground projects. Cast celebrations and recognition will also be a part of their duties.

Rafa Barron was hired into Tomorrowland attractions two and a half years ago. He is currently a working lead for Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Astro Orbiter, and Tomorrowland Theater, and is a trainer in the area. On top of that, he leads orientation classes for new cast members in both English and Spanish. Barron is a native of Mexico City, Mexico and currently lives in Irvine.

Justin Rapp came to the Disneyland Resort originally as a skipper for the World Famous Jungle Cruise in 2012. He eventually moved into Entertainment where he has performed ever since. Rapp also facilitates Step into the Magic, a training class for new cast members. A native of Pheonix, AZ, Rapp currently resides in Anaheim.

The Disneyland Ambassador Program began in 1965. Walt Disney realized that with the 10th anniversary of Disneyland happening he would need help representing the park. Walt Disney picked Julie Reihm Casaletto to be the first Disneyland Ambassador and assist him. The Disneyland Ambassador program was such a hit that it has continued on and expanded over the last 53 years. Now, there are Disney Ambassadors around the globe representing their specific resorts.

Please join DAPS MAGIC in welcoming and congratulating the 2019-2020 Disneyland Resort Ambassador team! Congratulations Justin Rapp and Rafa Barron!
