Earlier this year it was announced that a bug’s land would be closing to make way for a Super Hero-themed land. While it was known that a bug’s land would be closing at the end of the summer, details weren’t specific. Now the Disney Parks Blog has confirmed that September 4th will be the final day to visit this first addition to Disney California Adventure.

A Bug’s Land was added to Disney California Adventure in 2002. The land was themed after the Disney-Pixar animated feature A Bug’s Life.  It built off of what was already nearby with It’s Tough to be a Bug! and also the Bountiful Valley Farm. To become a full land, Flik’s Fun Fair was added. With it, came four new attractions. This included Flik’s Flyers, Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train, Francis’ Ladybug Boogie, along with Tuck and Roll’s Drive ‘Em Buggies. There is also Princess Dot’s Puddle Park in the area.

Changes continued to come to this area though. Bountiful Valley Farms was later closed in 2010 to make way for Cars Land. On March 29th of this year, It’s Tough to Be a Bug! was closed ahead of this area getting rethemed. The closure of a bug’s land after September 4th will lead to the new Super Hero-themed land that will open in 2020.

What do you think of these changes? Are you excited about this new land-based off the Marvels super heroes?
