Disney’s Animal Kingdom to Celebrate 20th Anniversary with A ‘Party For the Planet’ April 22-May 5

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will celebrate Earth Day this year with a 20th anniversary “Party for the Planet” celebration April 22-May 5.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch will offer backstage experiences for guests to visit the animal hospital, learn about animal nutrition, or delve into the world of Disney’s conservation efforts.

Guests will also be able to find special photo opportunities, special merchandise, and kids have an opportunity to earn a special badge through the WIlderness Explorer program! Guests who wish to learn more about the animals that call Disney’s Animal Kingdom home can reserve their spot in one of six different Tiffins Talks, hosted at Tiffins full-service restaurant. Included in the merchandise will be a limited edition print created by Walt Disney Imagineer Joe Rodhe. (He will be available to sign prints on April 22 from 1-4 p.m. at Discovery Trading Company. Quantities are limited).

Guests will also be able to enjoy these activities:

  • Celebrate the one year anniversary of Pandora – The World of Avatar. Guests are invited to travel to the world of stunning bioluminescence and floating mountains.
  • Have a “dino-tastic” celebration with Donald and friends in DinoLand, U.S.A. Donald will bring out his rarely seen pals such as Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad McQuack and more. A DJ-powered dance party will mix tunes from the truck-o-saurus stage, capping the nighttime festivities.
  • Aprill 22 will mark the debut of an all-new show UP! A Great Bird Adventure featuring Russell and Dug from the Disney•Pixar film “UP.” Guests will encounter exotic birds alongside Senior Wilderness Explorer Russel and his furry friend Dug. There will be multiple chances to catch this show daily, and it won’t be one to miss!
