Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars Stand-Alone Film in Early Development

The Force is strong with Obi-Wan Kenobi. It appears that work is being done to return him to the silver screen. Sources are telling Variety and the Hollywood Reporter that director Stephen Daldry is in talks to direct the film. Daldry directed Billy Elliott, The Hours, The Reader, and episodes of The Crown.

While it is known that Daldry is in talks to direct, not a whole lot else is known. Things are really early in development. There is no script. There is no writer. And it isn’t known if this will be the next stand-alone film.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was the first stand alone Star Wars film. It is being followed up by a yet to be titled Han Solo flick.

Obi-Wan Kenobi was originally played by Sir Alec Guinness in Episode 4-6. The character was then portrayed by Ewan McGregor in Episodes 1-3. He is known as Anakin Skywalker’s trainer before he turned to the dark side. He then became one with the Force during a battle with Darth Vader and appeared as a Force Ghost.

What do you think of the idea of having an Obi-Wan Kenobi stand alone Star Wars film? What would you like to see happen in it? Let us know in the comments below?
