A casting call for the roles of Aladdin and Jasmine has gone out for the Guy Ritchie directed film.  The upcoming movie falls in with all the current and in production new Disney movies that adapt once animated films into a live action setting.

The roles of Aladdin and Jasmine have singing required and dancing a “plus.”  From this it’s clear that this will be a musical.  It’s also clear that the movie will have some authenticity to the setting because the casting call is looking for Middle Eastern actors and actresses for the roles.

Shooting is set to begin in July of this year.  No time is given for the release of the film.
