Disneyland New FastPass Locations and MaxPass Coming Soon

Disney Parks Blog has announced that two attractions will soon have FASTPASS and a new service will be available soon.

FASTPASS has been the way to bypass lines at Disney Parks since 1999 and has been available at several attractions at Disneyland.  Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain will soon have its older sibling added to the FASTPASS lineup.  Yes, Matterhorn will soon have FASTPASS available for guests to use.

Over in Disney California Adventure, an attraction that has been popular since its opening will soon have FASTPASS available to circumvent the long lines.  Toy Story Mania will be part of the system soon.

Besides adding these attractions to the lineup, Disney MaxPass will be introduced.  The service will be $10 a day for guests and will include unlimited high resolution downloads of PhotoPass pictures and mobile booking of FASTPASS.  The regular FASTPASS service will still be available via kiosks at the parks.  Special pricing for Annual Passholders in day and yearly offerings will be announced later.  MaxPass will utilize the Disneyland official app in new ways with these services.

There have been sightings of tests using a new FASTPASS redemption system at Disneyland, and this was probably to help test the MaxPass system.  Of course it’s unknown how it will impact guest experience, but this looks to help people enjoy the park more.  It’s not entirely clear how the booking of passes will work on the app, but it does sound different than Walt Disney World’s system.  Currently, Signature and Signature Plus Annual Passholders have downloads of PhotoPass pictures included with their passes.  It’s unknown if this will stay with the MaxPass coming in.  More information is coming soon to the Disney Parks Blog and we will provide information too.

What do you think of these new things coming to the Disneyland Resort?

  1. I can’t even. So instead of adopting WDW’s amazing, very well received, and free mobile FP booking system, DLR is going to model itself after Six Flags and upcharge guests for the “privilege” of using a modern ride-reservation system? That’s one hell of a shark for TDA to jump. Disgusting.
