The Lion King will be roaring back into theaters. Disney has announced that it will be partnering with The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau to remake this Disney animated classic as a live action movie. The movie is being put on the fast track to production after the success of The Jungle Book and will utilize the same CG technology.
The remaking of The Lion King continues the trend Disney has had of reimagining classics in a modern way. As is being done in the upcoming Beauty and the Beast, this remake will include songs from the original animated feature. No release date has been announced yet. Favreau is also working on a sequel to The Jungle Book which doesn’t have a release date either.
DAPs Magic will continue to follow this story and have updates in the future so stay tuned!
