Select North American Disney Stores to Offer Live Playmation Demos

With the recent announcement of Disney’s latest interactive toy line, Playmation, guests will soon get the chance to test it out for themselves. Playmation, which is set to hit shelves in October, will offer live demos in North American Disney Stores.

According to the Los Angeles Times, starting this Saturday, 90 stores in North America will begin to provide demos of Playmation. Those partaking in the demo can do so for up to 30 minutes.

Demos will only be provided on Saturdays and Sundays before the Disney Store is set to open for normal business hours. Those that would like to enjoy a demo must sign up online. To sign up, please click here.

The 30-minute demo will allow participants to play a special mission tailored for Disney Stores that allows them to roam around the shuttered retail outlets. The demo will also take advantage of the theaters that most of the participating stores include. Disney Store employees dressed in special “Avengers” lab coats will get in on the action.

Motley Fool analyst Jason Moser said, “It actually gives them a chance to educate parents and kids about the toys in real time.”

As of July 7, pre-orders for Playmation are now available. The set comes to a total of $119.99, plus tax. Guests that do pre-order the Playmation Marvel’s Avengers Starter Pack will receive:

  • Repulsor Gear with your first 25 on-board missions
  • Power Activators x 2
  • Captain America Smart Figure
  • Iron Skull Smart Figure

In the local Los Angeles area, Disney Stores that will offer Playmation demos include locations in Glendale, Sherman Oaks, Santa Monica, Brea and Montebello. For a complete list of stores nation-wide, please click here.
