Hitting theaters on November 25 is that of Disney and Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur. Though there is still a ways till the film’s release date, a few details on the animated short set to premiere before the film have been released.
USA Today gave readers some insight on the short titled Sanjay’s Super Team. According to the article, the short is somewhat of an autobiography of the animator, Sanjay Patel. More news of the animated short is set to be announced at the San Diego Comic-Con.
The short will have no dialogue but will feature musical talent from Oscar-winning composer Mychael Danna.
Patel selected three deities to be featured in the short; “the monkey-like Hanuman, the goddess of power and protection Durga, and the blue-skinned Vishnu, who represents preservation,” according to USA Today. The article mentioned that some may consider the deities to be “a Hindu version of the Avengers.”
“Very clearly comes from a different cultural place than all the other stories we’ve told before. … And for kids who come from these backgrounds to see themselves on screen, it’s exciting for us,” said Patel.
Stay tuned for more information on the newly announced animated short.
