The Blue Bayou, located inside of Disneyland Park in New Orleans Square, is home to one of the best themed dining locations in the resort. Great lighting, excellent service and the best part, guests are pretty much in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Let’s not forget the awesome food.
When it comes down to looking at the menu, be prepared for an elegant meal. As for any vegetarians out there, including myself, there is a great meal option available at this location. The Portobello Mushroom and Couscous Macque Choux is pretty much out of this world. If you happen to order it, you will not be disappointed.
The meal comes with the house salad, which is great. It was set with an ever so flavorful vinaigrette, pecans and sprinkle of cheese. Gumbo is also offered as a first course, but it is not vegetarian. So salad it is!
Now for the meal, there are a variety of flavors and textures. Straight from the Disneyland website, here is what the offering entails. “Marinated in a Balsamic Vinaigrette, then Broiled and served with Roasted Corn and Bell Pepper-Israeli Couscous, and Sautéed Spinach.”
Please note that these photos do not do this meal justice. It was a great meal and I would recommend it to anyone. The offering is available for both lunch and dinner. To add even more to your dining experience, the Portobello is pretty yummy with a Louisiana Lemonade.
The Portobello Mushroom and Couscous Macque Choux is $29.99. Disneyland Annual Pass discounts are accepted here. If you wish to dine at this location, it is highly recommended to place a reservation. If not, as soon as this location opens it would be best to see if walk up spots are available. Please be advised that this is a popular dining location and may be full.
If you have any further questions about specific dietary needs or vegetarian dining at the Disneyland Resort, feel free to call Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE or (714) 781-3463. To view the full menu of the Blue Bayou, please click here.
Be sure to stay tuned to DAPs Magic as I venture through the Disneyland Resort tasting other delicious vegetarian options. You never know what may appear on my plate next.
Hope you enjoyed this meal recap. If you have any suggestions or comments, please let me know.
