If you were a fan of Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” here is some good news. Coming to Disney XD later this year, “Guardians of the Galaxy” will become a brand new animated series.
According to USA Today, audiences can get a glimpse of the crew in this coming Sunday’s episode of Marvel’s “Avengers Assemble.” The cast so far includes Will Friedle as Star-Lord, Kevin Michael Richardson as Groot and Trevor Devall as Rocket. This episode will feature the Guardians coming to earth.
As for the animated series coming later this year, these same roles will be cast by the actors above as well as ‘David Sobolov as Drax the Destroyer, Vanessa Marshall as Gamora and James Arnold Taylor as Yondu as well as Cosmo,’ according to the article.
Vice president of animation development and production, Cort Lane, had this to say about the cast, “so the personalities and voices are right on target for what we are doing in the new series.”
The series and characters are said to try to match the movie as best as possible with all its elements of humor and adventure. Lane went on to add, “They are tempted to give in to not-so-heroic instincts, but they end up doing the right thing — even when they really, really don’t want to.”
What do you think about the cast of the animated “Guardians of the Galaxy” series?
