These three items may seem like a strange combination, but many people from many different generations recognize the happiness and lifelong memories that will be cherished and shared with future generations.

Walt’s dream was to build a safe, clean and family friendly amusement park where guests are treated like first class citizens. Walt’s dream has become reality for people from all around the world as an estimated 700 million guests have passed through the gates since the July 17, 1955 opening day.

Those of us lucky enough to know the significance of a suitcase, a dream and a mouse are excited to experience the 60th anniversary of Disneyland®. Disneyland® gave us a sneak peek of the Diamond, 60th, anniversary festivities during the 59th birthday celebration. Many of us said, I have to be there and I am going to start saving today!!!

Disneyland® has now released a few details related to the celebration,  confirming the anniversary celebration will begin in the May 22nd of 2015. The Happiest Homecoming on Earth, Disneyland’s 50th anniversary celebration lasted eighteen months beginning in May 2005, 2 1/2 months before the actual anniversary date. I personally did not attend the 50th anniversary, but have Disney friends who did. It was crazy as people started lining up the day before as the guests wanted to be sure that they would be able to experience this milestone.

How will the 60th compare to the 50th? Is it too soon to start planning? I say, NO!!! My prediction is that it is going to be crazy!!! Here is my travel tip and my plan: Check your parties schedule, agree on a budget, make your hotel reservation and plan to arrive early and bring lots of patience as the Resort will probably be at capacity. Remember why you are there and Walt’s vision. Most importantly, enjoy the time you have with your loved one and create lifelong memories.

Be on lookout for updates as more information becomes available.

  1. Well said! I love how you pointed out Walt’s dream for the park. It emphasizes why they are doing the night shows with the themes they have.
