test-track-grand-opening-meg-croftonOn June 1, 2015, Disney’s Meg Crofton will retire from her position as president of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts’ U.S. and France operations according to the Orlando Sentinel. She has held this position since 2011 and was president of the Walt Disney World Resort back in 2006.

With over 35 years working for the Walt Disney Company, it is sad to see her go. She had a few words to share per her announcement. “I wanted to leave while I still had plenty of juice left for the next chapter in my life,” said Crofton. With all her work in park operations, she too could be seen working within the community. Crofton held positions on the boards of University of Central Florida and the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission.

Before her time as an executive, she worked as Director of Walt Disney World’s Human Resources Department. Here she watched over all parks at the resort. Before that, she began her role within sales operations.

Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Tom Staggs, said “there are few people within who have inspired as many people and made as significant an impact as Meg has. She has devoted her career to nurturing countless cast members, encouraging them to achieve new heights, coaching them to succeed and helping them down the path, no matter where they wanted it to take them. She has amassed innumerable achievements over the years, literally spanning the globe.”

Currently, no successor has been named since her retirement announcement.
