IMAX Filming for Star Wars Episode VII

Star Wars Episode VII is being filmed with an IMAX camera. A recent tweet from the Bad Robot twitter account shared the news that when Star Wars 7 is released next year, it is going to look awesome.

It appears that in this picture, there will be an IMAX view of what appears to be Tatooine. According to /film, J.J. Abrams is shooting with three of the four IMAX cameras that are in existence. They are also reporting that the film will be shot in 2D and then later converted to 3D. This is pretty much what J.J. Abrams did with Star Trek Into Darkness as well… but with a lot more equipment and money behind the process this time.

So what does this tell us? We are in for a fantastic movie going experience on December 18, 2015. Don’t forget that date! I know we will be getting tickets for the IMAX presentation of this film the moment they become available!

What do you think? Are you excited by this news? Any thoughts on Star Wars in general and its future? I would love to hear your thoughts below!

Make it a GREAT day!
