‘Tis the Season for Candy Canes

The long standing tradition of creating candy canes at the Disneyland Resort has once again returned. Starting back in 1965, the distribution of the beloved handmade candy cane began at the Resort. Since then, guests have been coming back for more of this holiday treat. This wholehearted and labor intense process of creating the candy cane takes about two hours a batch. While working in a slightly heated candy room, the candy makers stretch and pull this taffy like substance into the shape and form we have come to know. Each strip of white, red and green has all been rolled by hand. And just to think, only three ingredients make up this yummy candy; corn syrup, sugar and water.

In order to get your hands on some of these amazing candy canes, there is a little procedure that must be followed. Since there is a high demand, at park opening guests must receive a wristband which will entitle them to one candy cane. There is a limited amount of wristbands per day of distribution. Separate admission to the parks is required and is not included with the wristband. Candy canes can be picked up at the Candy Palace along Main Street inside of Disneyland or at Trolley Treats inside Disney California Adventure Park depending on the days of production. Discounts are not accepted. Guests must pick up their candy cane by a designated or are subject to losing that item.

To the best of our knowledge, candy canes will be made on Tuesdays and Fridays at Disneyland. On Mondays and Saturdays, candy canes will be made at Disney California Adventure Park. Dates are subject to changed based on what Disney announces.

‘Tis the season for candy canes!
