Phoenix Comicon is proud to announce that actors Kristin Bauer, Sam Witwer and Jewel Staite will be attending Comicon 2013.

We are proud to welcome Bauer, Witwer and Staite, who are well known for their respective parts on hit television shows to this year’s Phoenix Comicon,” says Convention Director Matt Solberg.

Kristin Bauer van Straten is a television actress best known for her role as the vampire Pam in HBO’s hit show True Blood. She is also known for her portrayal of the evil sorceress Maleficent on the ABC series Once Upon a Time. Bauer also appeared in 2001’s award-winning Room 302 as the character Karen.

Sam Witwer is know for his recurring characters as Lt. Crashdown on Battlestar Galactica, Neil Perry on the Showtime hit series Dexter and Davis Bloome aka Doomsday in Smallville, He also lends both his voice and likeness to the multimedia project Star Wars: The Force Unleashed as Starkiller and Darth Sidious. Witwer currently stars of the US/Canadian remake of BBC’s supernatural drama series Being Human on Syfy

Jewel Staite is a Canadian actress best known portraying Kaylee Frye in Firefly and the subsequent 2005 film Serenity. She also played Dr. Jennifer Keller on Stargate Atlantis. Staite currently stars as Raquel Westbrook in the Canadian drama, The L.A. Complex.

Phoenix Comicon is the signature pop culture experience of the southwest. Comicon is presenting guests and programming for hobbyists by attracting the top segments of the comics, anime, sci-fi, film, tv, and gaming industries. Entering its eleventh year, Phoenix Comicon is expected to draw over 40,000 attendees to its May 23-26, 2013 convention held at the Phoenix Convention Center and Hyatt Regency in Downtown Phoenix.
