Bamboo Forest Publishing Announces Acquisition of Disney Legend Rolly Crump’s Autobiography

Orlando, FL – 6/21/2012 – Bamboo Forest Publishing, the company that brought you the infamous travel guide The Dark Side of Disney and the critically acclaimed novel Our Kingdom of Dust, is proud to announce that it will be releasing Disney Legend Rolly Crump’s autobiography (as told to Jeff Heimbuch), It’s Kind of a Cute Story.  The book is currently slated for an early-December release and will be available in paperback, hardback, and ebook formats from all major retailers.

The Imagineers, those men and women who helped Walt Disney bring his creations to life, have achieved legendary status among theme park enthusiasts. One of the most beloved Imagineers is Rolly Crump, whose work can be seen not only in Disney Parks, but also in other theme parks, casinos, and cultural centers worldwide. Rolly was instrumental in designing some of Disney’s most famous attractions, including the ’64  New York World’s Fair pavilions, it’s a small world, The Enchanted Tiki Room , and many more. “It’s Kind of a Cute Story is full of stories about Rolly’s long and varied career, with most of them being laugh out loud entertaining,” says Jeff Heimbuch, who helped Rolly get his memoirs down on paper. “They all weave into a riveting narrative of his life and accomplishments.”

“Rolly has the rare talent of being able to talk about himself with wit, flair, and humility,” says Bamboo Forest Publishing’s founder, Leonard Kinsey. “His stories about Walt Disney humanize the iconic genius, wiping away the veneer of sainthood, and showing Walt as a man with a great sense of humor, a bit of a foul mouth, and little tolerance for yes-men. These stories are told with such warmth that you immediately understand why Rolly was so beloved by Walt and the other Imagineers. This is one of those rare books where you’re almost in tears when you reach the last page because it feels like you’re saying goodbye to an old friend. It’s a huge honor to have Rolly and Jeff choose Bamboo Forest as the publisher of such an entertaining and historically important book.”

“I’m more than thrilled to be working with Leonard at Bamboo Forest Publishing,” says Rolly. “My life has been a true fairy tale and I know the folks at Bamboo will treat this tale with love. I’m looking forward to sharing more than six decades of stories with Disney Fans, as well with as anyone who has ever followed a dream.”

It’s Kind of a Cute Story by Rolly Crump and Jeff Heimbuch will be released by Bamboo Forest Publishing in early-December. Check www.bambooforestpublishing.com for updates, and for information on their other releases.
