‘Little Mermaid’ a big hit in Denver

ENVER, 7 (UPI) — The musical stage production of "Disney’s The Little Mermaid" has sold out its seven-week, pre-Broadway run in Denver.

Nearly 95,000 tickets were sold for the 47-performance engagement, which ends Sunday, at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the Denver Center for the
Performing Arts.

It was one of the most highly attended events in DCPA history and the most successful out-of-town tryout for
Disney Theatrical Productions.

"This was the highlight of our year and we have been overwhelmed by the tremendous support and amazing response our audiences have shown. We greatly value our relationship with Disney Theatrical Productions and have been honored to have this fantastic cast and crew here in Denver," Randy Weeks, president and executive director of Denver Center Attractions, said in a statement.

Broadway previews of "The Little Mermaid" will begin at
New York's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on Nov. 3, with an official opening scheduled for Dec. 6.
