Top Disney business trainer to teach local class

SYLVA – Southwestern Community College, along with a host of other sponsors, will bring Doug Lipp, Disney's top customer service trainer to the area May 16.

Lipp, an internationally-acclaimed expert on customer service, will present a one-day leadership seminar and workshop for owners and managers – Lead the Way: Your Customers and Employees Will Follow- at Harrah's Cherokee Conference Center from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 16.

"We are bringing in the big guns," said Russ Seagle, director of Southwestern Community College's Small Business Center. "This is not just a front-line coach-your-employees-to-smile seminar, this is a world-class, time-proven leadership management seminar on attracting customers, and, just as importantly, keeping them.”

Lipp, who has spent more than 25 years working from the front lines to the boardrooms of corporations around the world, will introduce participants to breakthrough techniques that Disney, Starbucks and Pepsi employ to increase service levels, productivity and profitability.

He has been head of training at Disney Studio's Walt Disney University and created Disney's first international theme park in Japan.

"We know great customer service starts at the top, that's why we are bringing in this top-of-the-line trainer," said Seagle. "He will show us how to adapt proven approaches to our own organization. His style is totally interactive- fun, actually. By the end of the workshop, you will have a working action plan to improve your company's customer service through leadership- a plan Lipp assures you can put into action the very next day."

Plus, Seagle said, "Nine lucky people who register by May 4 have a chance to win breakfast with Lipp where they can pick his brain."

The cost of the seminar is $79, which includes Lipp's latest book, Even Monkeys Fall From Trees. Register online at www.WNCCustomerService.com or call 877-433-6700. The registration deadline is May 10.
